Joseph F. Sofo

Joseph F. Sofo, CPA, earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brooklyn College. A Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Joseph specializes in auditing, general accounting, computer technology and tax preparation. In his 24 years as a CPA, he has garnered a wealth of experience working with a diverse clientele that includes market research firms, real estate developers, housing condominiums and cooperatives, retail and wholesale sales businesses, manufacturing companies and non-profit organizations.

He is also a licensed life, accident and health insurance agent, which gives him insight into needs analysis and estate planning.

Joseph is also a former member of the Litigation Support Services Committee, Nassau Chamber, New York State Society of CPAs

 

Eric Mendelsohn

Eric Mendelsohn, CPA, graduated from Queens College in 1993, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting and information systems. Specializing in auditing accounting and corporate taxation has given Eric expertise in filling the accounting needs of law offices, non-profit organizations, medical and biotechnology firms, and real estate partnerships among others. He also offers individual clients his extensive knowledge of estate and trust planning. As a licensed life, accident and health insurance agent, Eric has a firm foundation in employee benefit planning as well.

The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ newsletter has featured several of Eric’s articles on CPA services for individual and corporate clients. He is also a former member of the organization’s Small Firms Committee and its Personal Financial Planning Committee.

Stephen S. Kurcias

Stephen S. Kurcias, CPA, J.D. graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, earning his B.S. In Economics. He also earned his J.D. From the Fordham University School of Law. He is an Attorney at Law admitted to the New York State Bar Association and maintains his Certified Public Accountant license in New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In his role as a CPA, Stephen specializes in audits, taxation and accounting. He has served a diverse clientele in a number of industries including retail and wholesale commerce, professional law firms, service organizations, real estate partnerships, condominium associations, and numerous non-profit organizations. For individual clients, he has provided tax and estate planning services.

Ira Jaffe

Ira Jaffe, CPA, is a graduate of New York University where he earned his B.S. in accounting. He is admitted to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and is also registered as a CPA in Connecticut.

Ira has extensive experience serving the accounting needs of non-profit organizations, charities, foundations, law firms, real estate, condominium associations, and other diversified publicly owned companies. He has also offered tax, trust, and estate planning services to a diverse clientele of private individuals.

    Ira is a current member of the following organizations:

  • The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
  • The New York State, New Jersey and Connecticut Societies of Certified Public Accountants
  • The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants

As an experienced professional, Ira has shared his expertise in numerous professional articles and industry seminars. As a member of the AICPA and National Conference of CPA Practitioners’ team of Peer Reviewers, he is qualified to perform peer reviews of the practice, procedures, and professional standards of other CPA firms.
